St. Louis, MO, December 10, 2021 – 9Line Software is pleased to announce Bandwidth, Inc. (NASDAQ: BAND) as our new strategic partner and reseller in North America. Businesses in the US & Canada are subject to new 911 compliance requirements created by Kari’s Law & the Ray Baum Act, and 9Line’s services immediately help customers satisfy federal 911 regulations at the most affordable price point available in the market. The final deadline for compliance is January 6, 2022.
In conjunction with the Bandwidth partnership announcement, 9Line also announced two new integrations. The first, 9Line for CUCM, is for businesses utilizing Cisco Unified Communications, and the second, 9Line for BWKS, is for phone carriers hosting voice services on the BroadWorks platform.
We are positively thrilled to work side-by-side with our new reseller and partner, Bandwidth. The Bandwidth team is the global leader in enterprise cloud communications, including Voice over IP, SMS, and emergency communications such as 911. 9Line extends Bandwidth’s capabilities by delivering affordable Kari’s Law & Ray Baum Act compliance for businesses utilizing Cisco or BroadWorks platforms across the US & Canada.
Mark Turpin, CEO 9Line Software
The Ray Baum Act requires companies to ensure precise location information accompanies every 911 call if made through the company’s phone system. With the surge in work from home due to COVID, compliance is increasingly difficult without a service such as 9Line.
9Line collects and inserts granular location information on behalf of the company, ensuring compliance with the federal regulations. This information includes details such as office number, floor number, or other descriptive text to assist first responders in identifying where the caller is located.
Kari’s Law took effect in February 2020 and requires business phone systems to allow anyone to call 911 without added prefixes such as “9” for outside lines. The law requires mandatory notifications to company staff when 911 is called and requires a valid callback number that a 911 dispatcher can use to reach the caller in case of disconnect.
